Report Highlights
At present, the global financial crisis is having an impact on the real economy. In the face of fluctuations in the price of raw materials, rise in labor cost, Renminbi appreciation and other unexpected incidents, China's central enterprises pay heed to and control risks and implement overall risk management, to deal with the adverse impact of the global financial crisis.
China's regulatory bodies attach increasing importance to overall risk management. Guidance and rules have been introduced, and overall risk management is included in the assessment system used by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council to assess central enterprises.
On June 28, 2008, the Ministry of Finance, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the National Audit Office of the P.R.C., the China Banking Regulatory Commission and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission jointly released China's first Basic Rules on Enterprise Internal Control. The rules will take effect on listed companies on July 1, 2009, and non-listed large and medium-sized enterprises are encouraged to implement it.
In the face of changes and competition in market as well as challenges, we release the 2008-2009 Annual Report on the Overall Risk Management of China's Central Enterprises, which helps domestic enterprises grasp more accurately the development trend and laws governing the development of overall risk management.
