Report Highlights

Among high-tech industries, one of the most remarkable fields is the biomedical industry, which combines biology and the traditional pharmaceutical industry. Modern biology largely consists of genetic engineering, cell engineering, enzyme engineering, protein engineering and fermentation engineering, including epigenomics and bio-informatics. It provides strong tools for addressing a host of major issues faced by human beings. In particular, it plays a unique role in addressing diseases that are difficult to treat, population explosion and foot shortage. Therefore, governments in various countries around the world formulate preferential policies, implement development strategies, and invest heavily to develop biology.

In 2008, the most remarkable feature of China's biomedical industry was active capital operation. After the downturn in 2007, the periodic valley of China's pharmaceutical industry was recognized by capital, which proves the industry's huge potential. At the same time, we must see that China's biomedical industry is still on a low level compared with the international biomedical industry. China's biomedical industry still lags considerable behind advanced international level in enterprise size, strength and innovation capability and total investment in the industry.

On a global scale, the chemical pharmaceutical, traditional pharmaceutical, biomedical, biomedical engineering and medical instruments industries fall within the biomedical industry. In recent years, merger and reorganization have become new trend of the international pharmaceutical industry.

In the face of changes and challenges of competition and market, we release the 2008-2009 Annual Report on the Development of China's Biomedical Industry, to help the government, investors and industry insiders grasp more accurately laws governing the industry's development and comb the development track of application value. The report describes and analyzes the present situation and development trend of the international and Chinese biomedical industries, assesses major enterprises in China's biomedical industry, and presents recommendations for investing in the industry.
* Full and accurate research data and in-depth industry analysis: The report studies the global biomedical industry and depicts its development direction.
* All-round and in-depth industry structure analysis: It presents the industry's blueprint, and grasps its development trend.
* Scientific and complete industry forecast: Through regression modeling and expert verification in major industry segments, the report examines related links in the industry, and presents valuable trend analysis and quantitative forecast result.
