Report Highlights

In 2007, economic & technological development zones scored notable achievements in receiving the transfer of international industries, attracting and utilizing foreign capital. Infrastructure was further improved and the investment environment was increasingly internationalized. However, various economic & technological development zones built upon their characteristic advantages and showed different characteristics in a new round of competitions.

our team has developed an investment environment competitiveness evaluation index system for economic & technological development zones in China to assess their development zones' investment competitiveness from the 6 major aspects. i.e. degree of opening to the outside world, level of growth transformation, degree of support from supplementary facilities, operational efficiency and speed, intensity of industry ecology and degree of information services. At the current stage, transforming growth mode, improving operational efficiency, keeping and improving attractiveness become the important contents for mature economic & technological development zones, followed by support of supplementary facilities and information services. Through detailed data description and analysis, this report examines the changes in economic & technological development zones in 2007 from various perspectives.

In the face of competitions as well as market changes and challenges, the 2007-2008 Annual Report on Investment Environment Competitiveness of China's Economic & Technological Development Zones will help firms, investors and industry persons to more profoundly comb the investment values and operational patterns of economic & technological development zones, and more accurately grasp the status of the investment environment in the economic & technological development zones:
