Report Highlights

Natural gas has the advantages of cleanness, high efficiency, rich resources and easy transportation. Currently, coal accounts for 72% of China's energy consumption, while natural gas only accounts for 2.5%, far lower than the world average (25%). This is also lower than the average level (8.8%) in Asia. Currently, the per capita natural gas consumption of the world is 403m3/year, while the amount in China is only 25m3/year. Data shows that China's accumulated natural gas output in January-October 2007 stood at 560.895165 millionm3, up by 20.11% year-on-year. Taken the price of the same month of the price as 100, China's natural gas price index is 105.39.

Since 2005, China's natural gas consumption structure is changing. The chemical industry and urban fuel gas account for over 60% of the total consumption. As fuel gas rapidly replaces fuel coal in household consumption, urban fuel gas consumption has been growing the fastest. As the demand for natural gas grows, China's consumption structure will be further optimized in the future. Natural gas will gradually become the main fuel in the urban fuel gas market, and the level of urbanization will rise to 55%–60% in 2020 from 43% at present. In addition, the natural gas demand will also shift regionally.

By 2010, natural gas demand is expected to reach 100 billion cubic meters, while the output will amount to 80 billion cubic meters, leaving a gap of over 20 billion cubic meters. By 2020, natural gas demand will top 200 billion cubic meters, while the output will only stand at 100 billion cubic meters. The remaining 50% will rely on imports.

In the face of competitions as well as market changes and challenges, the 2007-2008 Annual Report on China's Natural Market released by our team will help enterprises, investors and industry persons to more accurately grasp the growth pattern of China's natural gas market, see through the market development trend, and make active preparations for possible changes:

More comprehensive and in-depth analysis of industry competitions. In addition to summing up key enterprises' performances from such diversified dimensions as competition pattern in market segments, competition strategies and SWOT analysis, our team draws upon its profound understanding of the energy industry to assess the elements for market successes and reveal the structure and competition pattern of China's natural gas industry from multiple perspectives.

More scientific and comprehensive forecast for future growth. Develop regression models, carry out expert validation for all key market segments and perform linkage analysis with related industry processes to ensure the presentation of valuable trend analysis and quantitative forecast results. our team also puts forward pertinent development strategies and recommendations for the government, enterprises and investors.
