Deal to build plant

Wuhan Iron & Steel Corp signed a US$100 million deal with Wire Rope 
Corp of America Inc to build a plant that will produce 50,000 metric 
tons of cables a year, the Wall Street Journal said. The 90,000-
square-meter plant in Wuhan, Hubei Province, will produce cables used
 for bridges, cranes, mining and oil rigs, the report said, citing 
comments from Wire Rope's Chief Executive, Ira Glazer. Wire Rope will
 own 51 percent of the joint venture, according to the report.
