China's consumer price index rises 4.4% in June

    China's consumer price index (CPI) rose 4.4 percent in June 
compared with a year ago, Li Xiaochao, spokesman with the National
 Bureau of Statistics, said on Thursday. 

    CPI in the first half of this year increased 3.2 percent year on 
year.
